RoC Modified Lap Bonus Money Tally.

SUNOCO RACE OF CHAMPIONS MODIFIED 200 SEES OVER $22,000 IN POSTED LAP AND BONUS MONEY PAID OUT AMONG 17 DIFFERENT DRIVERS.


BINGHAMTON, NY…The 61st running of the Sunoco Race of Champions Modified 200 is in the books and now the final tally on the posted lap and bonus money has been released. A whopping total of $22,363 was generated this year for the drivers in the Modified 200. Seventeen different drivers earned a share of that money this year.

For the first time the lap bonus money was randomly drawn and awarded among the top three drivers in the running order throughout the RoC Modified 200. Lap 68 donated by Andrew Harpell in Memory of Alex Friesen for $1,000 went to the lap leader (Matt Hirschman). Lap 100 saw event promoter Andrew Harpell team up with T.J. and Waite Toyota to pay a $600 bonus to the top ten drivers in the running order at that time as well.

Once again due to the tireless efforts of Marilyn and Don Toal the Modified drivers will be awarded substantial bonus money for their work in the RoC Modified 200. Matt Hirschman led the benefactors by collecting $4,398 in bonus lap money. Tony Hirschman collected $3,785 in bonus money and Chuck Hossfeld collected a bonus amount of $2,680 despite dropping out of the event early. Third place finisher Erick Rudolph will be awarded $1,857 in bonus money with Jimmy Zacharias collecting $1,780. Race winner Zane Zeiner will receive a bonus of $1,772 bringing his race winning to $11,772.00

Here is the complete breakdown for the 2011 Sunoco Race of Champions Modified 200 lap bonus money: Matt Hirschman ($4,398), Tony Hirschman ($3,785), Chuck Hossfeld ($2,680), Erick Rudolph ($1,857), Jimmy Zacharias ($1,780), Zane Zeiner ($1,772), Ryan Preece ($1,338), Mike Leaty ($1,100), Earl Paules ($600), T.J. Potrzebowski ($600), Dave Wollaber ($600), Tommy Farrell III ($600), Terry Cheetham ($500), Billy Putney ($360), Jim Storace ($222), Jan Leaty ($100), Tommy Cloce ($61).

The next event on the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour schedule is Friday, August 12th at the Chemung Speedrome. The 150 lap event is always a hotly contested event.
