TICKETS ON SALE MONDAY, AUGUST 3 FOR 59TH RACE OF CHAMPIONS AT OSWEGO; SCHEDULE & PRICING FINALIZED

BINGHAMTON, NY…The anticipation of the 59^th running of the Sunoco Race of Champions Weekend continues to grow as the biggest weekend of short track racing is just around the corner.  The 59^th edition is set to take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday September 11^th through 13^th at Oswego Speedway.  Tickets go on sale this Monday, August 3^rd through the Oswego Speedway box office at 315-342-0646.

The new exciting format of the Sunoco Race of Champions Weekend has had tremendous feedback from both the competitors and spectators that annually attend this weekend of speed.  For the first time a special “advance sale only” three day reserved seat will be available.  The cost is $70 for all three days of racing in your same seat all weekend long.  This is a savings of $13 over buying the tickets individually.  The advance sale three day reserved seat package will only be sold through Thursday, September 10^th.  After that only one day reserved seats will be made available along with the normal grandstand general admission tickets.

All of the action gets underway on Friday morning with a paid open practice for the teams set to get underway at 10:30 a.m.  The racing action that evening will swing in to motion at 7:00 p.m. with the annual SST Modified 100.  This event has been one of the many highlights of the weekend as the SST teams run in their biggest payday of the season.  The Mini Stocks will be joined by the Street Stocks on Friday evening for a big three division program of racing to kick off the weekend of speed.

On Saturday The Late Models will compete in the first T.J./Waite Toyota 125.  Time trials for the Late Models will begin at 1:30 p.m. with heat races for the Late Models to follow.  The NORA Small Block Super Modifieds will have a complete show along with qualifying for the Super Stock 75 which will be held on Sunday.  The first ever Modified All-Star event will also take place which will certainly make Saturday a must see event for any race fan.  A post-race pit party will be held at the conclusion of the racing program on Saturday.

Sunday the 59^th running of the Sunoco Race of Champions Modified 200 will take center stage.  The Modified time trials will begin at 12:15 p.m. with their heat race to follow.  The Super Stock 75 lap feature will be part of the big day of racing with the Modified 200 set for 2:30 p.m.

The 2009 admission pricing structures have been set up with discounts for youth and three day reserved seat and pit pass discounts.  The cost of camping is $40 for the weekend, however anyone that purchases a camping permit for the Classic Weekend the weekend prior will camp for free.  The Annual “Best Camping Display Award” will occur once again with $125 being awarded to the best camping display.
