Race Winner Share Bumped Up To:  $500 To Win!

 

You must be able to match the following set of rules.  Any competitive differences would require weight to be added. 

 

The Overall Race Winner will earn $500 for the victory.

There is a $300 bonus for the 1st Dunn Tire Raceway Park driver across the line per their rulebook (this is not added to the top prize or other money)  

$100 for fifth, $40 to start.

Dunn Tire Raceway Park will be awarded “best of class” only if using exact 2010 track rulebook….this includes 350 cfm carb. Along with track tire.

 

 

 RACE OF CHAMPIONS FACTORY STOCK/ STREET STOCK 2011

 

Any American made sedan is eligible. Minimum stock wheelbase is 108 inches.

1.       No bracing anywhere of any kind.

2.       All doors must be welded or bolted shut.

3.       Side windows must be removed.

4.       The interior of the car must be completely stripped except for dashboard and front seat. Interior body panels may not be removed. Rear seat shelf and adequate fire wall mandatory.

5.       The stock steel unaltered floor pan, firewalls, and wheel wells. Front inner fender wells can be removed.

6.       No sectioning, channeling or chopping allowed.

7.       Cars must be strictly stock, no cutting, chopping, channeling, or shortening allowed. Hood and body sheet metal must be kept in place at all times. Stock hood and trunk latches must be removed and replaced with hood pins.

8.       Any holes in firewall must be sealed.

9.       No lightening of body components, such as hood, trunk, doors, inner panels, fenders and roof, except clearance for roll bar installation.

10.   Dashboard should remain in place. If removed, complete dash must be replaced by roll bar.

11.   All interior and exterior sheet metal must be stock as manufactured for make and model of car.

12.   All cars must have stock steering column. Removable steering wheel permitted, Subject to inspection by Tech.

13.   All cars must weigh a minimum of 3,200 pounds with driver. No more than 53% left side weight with driver.  All leaf spring Camaro’s and Firebirds may have a maximum of 51% left side weight.

14.   One nerf bar per side allowed between front and rear wheels, maximum size 1 1/2” x .120 wall. All edges must be rounded, mounted bolts must be counter sunk.

15.   All ballast’s must have a minimum of two (2) bolts to secure weight and must be bolted to frame or frame structure. No weight inside drivers compartment.

Miscellaneous

1.         Batteries must be under hood and securely strapped. No driver compartment or trunk mounting.

2.         All cars must have a wire screen or lexan windshield supported inside at center by three vertical bars minimum of one inch by 1/8 inch. Screen must be approved for strength before competition.

3.         Headlights and taillights must be removed.

 

Roll Cage Installation

1.       6 point roll cage minimum required. Must have minimum of 3 bars on driver’s side door and two on right side door

2.        The roll bar must be located directly behind the driver and reach as close as possible to the roof and left side of the car.

3.       Driver compartment bracing must remain inside the driver’s compartment and may not dissect, bisect or pass through the trunk. Roll bar braces from main cage on right and left sides may go through front floor or firewall to frame, One (1) bar per side and not past A-frames.

4.       Roll bar installation is subject to inspection and will be closely scrutinized.

 

Suspension

      1. Suspension must remain stock and unaltered..
      2. Suspension components must be stock to the year, make and model of car being used, with the exception of the sway bar links. They may be all thread or fastened any other way to top of lower A arm.
      3. NO ROD ENDS ALLOWED, MUST BE STOCK IN LOCATION.
      4. No aluminum suspension components.
      5. Stock mount non-adjustable racing shocks permitted. Only one shock per wheel.
      6. Only stock steel springs are permitted.
      7. Springs must remain stock type and be mounted in stock location. Spring rates may be altered. All cars must maintain a 5" ground clearance at all times, measured from lowest part of frame.
      8. Up to 1" factory rubber spring spacer allowed on top of springs. If used, must be on both sides and be same size.
      9.  Minimum of at least one pig-tail required on rear coil springs.
      10. Front strut cars may slot holes to obtain more camber.
      11. Stock unaltered sway bars only. May use threaded rod for sway bar links. 
      12. All cars must use a retaining hoop at the front and rear of the drive shaft.
      13. Drive shaft must be painted white or yellow for visibility if lost on the track.
      14. No heim joints permitted, magnetic drive shafts only.
      15. Locked rears only.
      16. Welded spider or mini-spools permitted.
      17. Torque arm cars may mount front of torque arm to frame. Must use stock mount and remain in stock location.

Wheels

Racing wheel allowed and 2” maximum offset. Eight inch maximum width for all wheels. No plastic, aluminum or mag wheels allowed. Teams are encouraged to inspect their wheels weekly for any damage that may occur from contact on the racetrack.  D.O.T type tires only permitted. Hoosier 790 tires may be run.  Lancaster cars that opt to run the 790 tire are not eligible for the LRP bonus, only eligible for the overall posted prize money. 

 

Engine

1.   The engine must be strictly stock for that make and model and in its original mounts. Engine sizes: GM - 350 plus 0.030, ford Windsor engines only 351 plus 0.030, Chrysler - 360 plus 0.030. Maximum compression allowed is 9 to 1. No high performance, s.v.o. or direct connection parts allowed.

2.   No aluminum intakes or heads.

3.   Hydraulic or solid lifters or solid lifter cams. All distributor advance components must be    functioning to O.E.M. specs. No special or rapid bleed-down valve lifters allowed.      

4.   No matching, grinding, etc. of any kind.

5.   No after market racing parts.

     6.    Stock appearing oil pan. Pan may have baffle

     7.    Rocker arm locking nuts permitted.

     8.    Roller rocker arms will only be allowed if 1.5 ratio.  Must add 50 lbs. of weight with roller rockers meeting the 1.5 ratio. 

 

Carburetor

1.   Unaltered stock cast iron two-barrel intake manifold and unaltered Holly R4412,   500 cfm, carburertor.  Teams running for Dunn Tire bonus must run 350 CFM Holly 7448.

 

Transmission and Rear End

1.         Stock automatic 3-speed transmission or automatic transmission permitted.

            3.73 maximum gear.

2.         Shifter must be stock.

 

Gas Tank Installation

1.         Fuel cells are mandatory           

2.         Fuel cell must be mounted in center of trunk. No offset permitted. The trunk floor is to be cut from frame rail to frame rail, back to the spring pockets to      accommodate the fuel tank. Bottom of tank must not be lower than bottom of frame rail. Tank must be securely strapped down. Metal straps only. Tank must fill from inside of trunk. No holes allowed in trunk lid. One fuel cell only.

3.         The fuel line must exit from top or side of tank. No fuel lines in driver’s compartment.  No electric fuel pumps.

4.         A complete firewall must seal the trunk area from the driver’s compartment.

5.         Fuel cell must be secured by 4 over the cell (2 each direction) straps.

6.         Installations subject to inspection by Director of Tech.
