GATER RACING NEWS TO ONCE AGAIN AWARD BEST APPEARING MOD CAR AND CREW AWARD. GATER NEWS ALSO TO AWARD BEST APPEARING LATE MODEL RACE CAR AWARD IN 2006.

BINGHAMTON, NY…The phrase “Gotta Get A Gater” has been spoken at race tracks throughout the United States for a long time. This year the phrase will hold true at the 56^th annual Sunoco Race of Champions Weekend. Gater Racing News will present two special awards during the Saturday portion of the traditional event. The Sunoco Race of Champions Weekend will run this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 14^th – 16^th.

Gater Racing News will present the traditional Modified Best Appearing Car and Crew Award once again prior to the Modified 200 lapper. This year’s winner will receive a $100 cash prize, three subscriptions to Gater Racing News, an 8 x 10 color photo and a congratulations ad in the following edition of Gater Racing News. Gater Racing News hats will also be awarded to the team members.

For the first time Gater Racing News will also award a Best Appearing Late Model Car Award. This decision is sure to be a tough one as the Late Model field always boasts some spectacular equipment. The winner of this award will receive $50 cash, three subscriptions to Gater Racing News and 8 x 10 photo and a congratulatory ad in the next edition of Gater Racing News. The team will also be provided with Gater Racing News hats.

The SST/Sportsman 100 lap event will be sponsored by Gater Racing News this year as well. The race winner of this years 100 lapper will earn $2,500. Gater Racing News will be doing a special pre-race edition of the Sunoco Race of Champions prior to the event. Once again the Sunoco Race of Champions Modified 200 will pay a minimum again of $10,000 to win. Over $22,000 in bonus lap money is also up for grabs which could raise the winners total to well over $30,000. The Modified 200 is set to go green this Saturday, September 16^th at 6:00 p.m.
